New Composite: The Oppressed
« on: October 07, 2015, 11:09:22 AM »
Heya folks - I finished this one up late last night and thought I'd show it around a bit. I'm going to have a print of this hanging as part of my mini-exhibition (sub-exhibition?) of six images that will be in a different room than the main exhibition coming up here in a couple of weeks.

The image represents the depression and anxiety many of us deal with, including my wife. Really - this image is for her.  My model nailed it, too!

I learned something that interested me as one of 19 people in my family who make their living in the arts.  It seems that the sections of the brain that deal with creativity, depression and addictive tendencies are all very closely intertwined, nearly identical, I believe.  If so, that explains a lot of the loss of our society's most creative geniuses early deaths through drugs, alcohol and suicide.  It's real.  Nice homage, Bill.

Thank you.  A lot of us have been there. I appreciate your kind words!  Jeff, I've thought that must be true from anecdotal evidence for some time.  It's interesting to hear that it's been shown to be more than anecdotal.  I'll have to look into that!

The Message is interesting - the image is flat , it distracts from the message.  Just saying.  Needs some work, IMO.
