After attending a Google seminar a month ago, "what Todd said".  Especially the mobile friendly part.

As Jeff and Todd said - mobile is a big one, seems Google is putting a lot of "ranking" importance on mobile friendly sites. I recently had some downtime after knee surgery and spent several weeks doing SEO (not much else to do!)

Used Google and a couple of online SEO tools, which enabled me to tweak my site to a 90/100 rating on Google. (A couple of things I couldn't tweak at all.)

I used the following:

https://varvy.com
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/

They give a good indication of how your site is performing, so even if you aren't able (or willing) to do yourself, you could advise your web designer the areas of concern.

Interesting site but I am not a coder and not even sure how to go about correcting the things I needed to correct.

Jeff have you done any of this on your Zen site?

I pay a service to handle that for me on my Wordpress blog.  Zenfolio is apparently trying to improve the mobile friendly performance on their end of things (they serve as my Gallery page).  That may be one of the reasons for the service issues last week.

Yes I was thinking since I use Zenfolio that I can't change any code inside of it. I use them for gallery and main site as well as blog. If I ever make it to the big times I might consider paying a third party to deal with all that but for now a tight budget keeps me reined in.

My review was mostly concerned about time to upload and stated that there was some type block code that needed to be removed. I knew I couldn't change that type thing.
