SB5000 question
« on: November 01, 2017, 04:33:40 PM »
... any of you have one?

I've got a question -- if you are in a situation where the radio aspect doesn't work, can they be used as the 'master', optically, just like a SB900?

I don't have one, but according to the specs it does have "commander" mode both optically and via radio. I was looking to get one when they were first announced but was turned off by the fact that the radio features are only compatible with the D5 and D500. In the  absence of those two models, it's not worth the extra hundred bucks over the SB910. But that's just my opinion.
